devlyn
was born in the city of Lydius to a sailor, Loujian, and his free companion,
Marina. Loujian went to sea with his fellow sailors, although some called
them pirates, and never returned. Marina was killed by a female assassin
when she was unable to pay the debts accrued by her Free Companion at local
paga taverns.
devlyn took to the wharves where many of her father's friends gave her shelter. She earned her way by "finding" interesting objects on the wharves then selling them. One day, her hand was found in the pocket of a wealthy merchant as he strolled along the streets, and she was immediately apprehended. In an elaborate ceremony, her ear was notched, publically humiliating her and shaming her for life as a thief. Not knowing how to keep herself without her art, she fled the city.
Travelling by night and stowing away in the lower hold of ships, she eventually found her way to Port Kar and stumbled into a seedy tavern called the Bosk Head. There she encountered an old friend she had met on her travels, Legion. She stayed with him a while, helping him keep the place in order.
A woman dressed in black entered the tavern one day, demanding paga, daring to show her face, scorning the men around her. devlyn recognized her as her mother's killer, a woman only known as "Marauder". She watched from the shadows as Marauder became increasingly drunk and rowdy with a young warrior friend, and culminated the evening by falling over drunk. The warrior, Liam of Tharna, stirred feeling heretofore unknown in devlyn, and she felt she must leave. Taking a bag of gold from the side of the dozing assassin, she fled Port Kar, hiding in forests during the day and hiding under carts to travel by night, shushing the slaves she encountered belows with a pastry or sweet.
She found herself in the city of Tharna, which she had heard was run by free women. Women like herself who were independant and strong, while the men worked as slaves for their comfort. She was startled to find on her arrival that it was no longer a city of freewomen, the men had revolted and set the Tatrix up as a puppet. Knowing she was in danger, she hid her remaining gold in a pleasure gardens, and submitted herself to the Masters who ran it.
Soon thereafter, a warrior, newly returned to his home, sought the peace of the gardens where devlyn had become a pleasure slave. Although she recognized him immediately, he was ignorant of their previous encounter. He developed more than a passing interest in her, and told her of his intention to make her His. She learned rapidly how to please Him, feeling her heart leap each time she saw Him appear, her only desire to serve him well.
Liam became popular among the Masters of the gardens, and they eventually gave him a key to the gate at the entrance at the same time, granting him his choice of slave. He chose the girl, devlyn, and she submitted happily to him, feeling that her joy could not be measured.
During his subsequent examination of her, he noticed the notch in her ear, light dawned, and he recognized her for the girl from a tavern in Port Kar, one who had robbed his friend. He grabbed her by the throat and demanded she take him to the gold she had taken, knowing she could not have spent the fortune in such a short time. Hoping only that he would not kill her, she showed him the way, revealing the gold that he generously shared with the other Masters.
Although they have left the gardens where they first met as Master and slave, they travel the world of Gor upon Master Liam's tarn. He riding above, with devlyn, skyanna, and bari bound in a basket below. Flying from Port Kar, to Ar, to the Voltai, and the Tahari Desert, finding friends and fellowship alont the way.
devlyn{Li} does her utmost to serve her Master gracefully and to please Him in all ways. Under His guidance she has become fully female, completely kajira, always passionate and eager to offer her submission to Him.
